Dr. Laura McGuire, MD, is fellowship-trained in both cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery.  Her clinical practice focuses on treating patients with all types of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, including subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracranial bleeding, and acute stroke.  Her medical expertise includes treating patients with brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, complex dural arteriovenous fistulas, carotid-cavernous fistulas, carotid artery stenosis/occlusion, and intracranial-vessel stenosis/occlusion.  In addition, her clinical specialties include surgeries of brain tumors, such as meningiomas, skull base tumors, cerebral metastases, gliomas, and glioblastomas.

She has more than 70 published peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters, with articles appearing in many neurosurgery journals, including Stroke, Journal of Neurosurgery, World Neurosurgery, Journal of Neuro-interventional Surgery, and Interventional Neuroradiology, among others.  Her research interests include outcomes of management of brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, cerebral bypass, and carotid artery dissection; quantitative cerebral flow measures; computational quantification of intracranial flows; and  visualization methods in neurosurgery.
